The Sea and Growing / Steven Anderson / Thur 19th March

1.

“… something in the live disrupts the process of recognition. Forced into a sense of relations that have to deal with the moment-by-moment temporality of the encounter, the co-ordinates that permit processes of recognition (making known) are disorientated.

– Andrew Quick

The noise is here in the room, Alasdair and Steven are focused and familiar.

Black suits.

Drone.

I imagine his family and his first painting.

I think of his articulation of the arm/hand. The shake.

The action is frustrating – seeking perfection perhaps.

Futility, deconstruction of past self or younger self.

Wearing the traces of past work. Black and white.
